Yamazaki Mazak partners Cleantech Solar to operate a 1.6MWp solar photovoltaic system.
Founded in 1988, Yamazaki Mazak Singapore plays a pivotal role in providing premium quality before and after sales service. This facility specializes in the production and sales in the international market of compact, high precision CNC turning centre and machining centre. It also includes the Southeast Asia Technology Centre that spans an area of about 10,450m2.
The company also officiated the expansion of its tooling and machine tool production facility as well as new addictive manufacturing solution centre in Singapore.
The Starting Point
In line with its commitment to protect the environment, Yamazaki Mazak sets up the green energy initiative to utilise renewable energy for its long-term power needs and decides to partner Cleantech Solar as its solar power provider.
The Result
Cleantech Solar took full responsibility for the installation of the system and is in charge of operation, monitoring and maintenance over the life of the agreement. The system will enable Yamazaki Mazak to reduce its CO2 emissions as well as reduce its operating costs. The shade that the panels provide to the roof naturally reduces the temperature of the fully air-conditioned factory, thereby helping to cut down on the plant’s energy consumption.
This project is a testimony of Yamazaki Mazak’s commitment to its environmental policy but also demonstrates that driving sustainability today can also make good business sense.
