Cleantech Solar switches on 1 MW solar PV system at Bosch SMART Factory in Thailand

Bosch Automotive Technologies (Thailand) is an entity of the leading German multinational company Bosch Group.

The Starting Point

Thailand is the home ground for the strongest automotive cluster in Southeast Asia and much of Bosch’s success lies in maintaining a social and ecological balance that aims to preserve resources for current and future generations. Hence, increasing the company’s renewable energy consumption at their plant is an important step in achieving Bosch’s vision of carbon neutrality and strengthening their sustainability leadership in the country.

The Result

2,880 solar modules have been installed across the rooftop of the Bosch’s Hemaraj factory that covers an area of about 10,000 square metres. As part of the expansion plan to boost the renewable electricity generating capacity at the facility, Cleantech Solar and Bosch will be extending the power purchase agreement (PPA) to install an additional 319 kW on the remaining available rooftop space. The added capacity is expected to be commissioned by early 2021.

The Bosch Group’s vision of carbon neutrality was achieved in September 2020, and Cleantech Solar is proud to have been part of this endeavor, ultimately strengthening Bosch’s sustainability leadership in the automotive industry.
