Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia, 30 June 2022: Cleantech Solar has powered up a 3.1 MW on-site rooftop solar PV system at the manufacturing facility of K-Plastics Industries in Nilai, Malaysia. The project was delivered under a long-term Power Purchase Agreement (PPA) signed between Malaysia’s K-Plastics Industries Sdn. Bhd., a subsidiary of Southeast Asia’s top rigid plastic packaging group Dynapack Asia and Cleantech Solar, a leading provider of renewable energy solutions to corporations in Southeast Asia and India.
The solar project has been fully financed, designed, installed and will be operated and maintained by Cleantech Solar. The solar power plant’s 5,734 PV modules are expected to generate over 71 GWh of clean electricity during the lifetime of the project, which is equivalent to offsetting over 41 kilotonnes of CO2 emissions, thereby supporting Dynapack Asia in its goal of becoming Asia’s most sustainable plastic manufacturing company.
The solar PV system can generate electricity up to 85% of the factory production needs during peak hours and on average, covers 20% of KPMY’s annual energy requirements.
This project completion follows the successful partnership of Cleantech Solar and Dynapack Asia Group in Thailand, comprising of two phases of a rooftop solar PV project for Berli Dynaplast in Lopburi for a total of 2.3 MW.
