Chennai, India, 23 August 2022: Cleantech Solar, a leading provider of renewable energy solutions to corporations in India and Southeast Asia, is pleased to announce the commissioning of an 18.7 MW solar PV system at its solar park in Tamil Nadu for Saint-Gobain India Pvt. Ltd., India’s leading glass manufacturer and a market leader in the plaster board industry. Saint-Gobain India will procure power from this solar PV project on a captive basis to power their manufacturing facilities in Sriperumbudur near Chennai and Perundurai.
This solar PV system is expected to generate approximately 418 GWh of clean energy during the lifetime of the project, avoiding over 380 kilotonnes of CO2 emissions. Procuring power from this solar PV project will contribute to Saint-Gobain’s goal of limiting its environmental impact, countering climate change, preserving natural resources and reducing waste and atmospheric emissions.
