Cleantech Solar and Berli Dynaplast enter into an agreement to install a 2.3 MW solar PV system in Lopburi, Thailand

Lopburi, Thailand, 16 November 2021: Cleantech Solar, a leading provider of renewable energy solutions to corporations in Southeast Asia and India, announces the commissioning of a ~1 MWp rooftop solar PV system for Berli Dynaplast Company Limited’s facility at their manufacturing plant in Lopburi, Thailand. Cleantech Solar has also taken this partnership forward by agreeing to expand the existing system by a further 1.4 MWp.

This long-term partnership between Cleantech Solar and Berli Dynaplast Company Limited is expected to generate approximately 72,320 MWh of clean energy during the system’s lifetime, amounting to a reduction of 41,160 tonnes of CO2 emissions. The solar PV system will boost Berli Dynaplast’s sustainability efforts in Thailand by substituting a portion of the electricity consumption with green, renewable solar power. Furthermore, using solar energy to power the operations will enable reduction in the facility’s operating costs without having to make any capital investment or assuming performance risk of the solar PV system.

Mr. Sebastien Borne, Head of Procurement & Group Sustainability at Dynapack Asia, said:

“I started to speak with Cleantech Solar about solar-panels in 2019, and I am delighted the first phase of this system in Thailand became operational last August. After signing our PPA in November 2020, Cleantech Solar’s focus to progress despite the Covid-19 pandemic and its restrictions has been key to making this happen. With Phase 2 work starting, I look forward to having all the site roofs covered and producing solar electricity for the coming decades, with zero carbon emissions.”

Mr. Raju Shukla, Founder and CEO of Cleantech Solar, said:

“We are happy to partner with Berli Dynaplast Company Limited in Thailand, our biggest market in Southeast Asia. Our solar PV solution will help them further their sustainability goals whilst reducing their carbon footprint and providing them the economic benefits of cost savings on electricity. Our top-of-the-line solution will also enable long-term price stability and security of power supply. We are already adding capacity to the existing solar PV system and are sure this partnership will continue to grow and benefit all stakeholders.”
